State Authorization

Regulations for Online (Distance) Education

Lutheran Brethren Seminary is pleased to offer degree programs to students residing outside of Minnesota. The Department of Education regulates that only students living in authorized states may enroll in Lutheran Brethren Seminary’s online distance program. Our participation in The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) authorizes us to operate in the majority of states. Additionally, students in Florida and California may also enroll in LBS’s online distance program since we have no physical presence that would trigger regulation in these states.

Student Complaints

Lutheran Brethren Seminary is committed to providing a positive educational experience for all of our students. Student complaints related to the education and/or processes involved, may be filed with the office of the Academic Dean:

Academic Dean of LBS
Lutheran Brethren Seminary
1036 W. Alcott Ave.
Fergus Falls, MN 56537
academicdean@lbs.edu
281-739-3375

If a complaint cannot be resolved at the seminary level, you may contact the Minnesota Office of Higher Education. If you reside in another state, you may contact your local state agency for further information. Once the complaint is filed, the Academic Dean will follow the grievance policy as outlined in the student handbook.

Lutheran Brethren Seminary has been approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.
