About This Course: Spiritual freedom through justification by faith alone is the big idea of this little book of the Bible. Dr. Merrill Tenney, late professor at Wheaton College and Graduate School, calls Galatians "The Magna Carta" of Christian liberty. Martin Luther, the great Reformer, called Galatians "My Katherine." Katherine was the name of Luther's wife. As Luther loved his wife so he loved this lovely little letter by Paul the Apostle.
Galatians is a short Bible book--a letter, to be exact--of six chapters. It can easily be divided into three main parts: a biographical section; a doctrinal section; and a practical section.
We begin this study with the first five verses of the letter, which we are calling the Preamble.
