Certificate of Theological Studies
At the Lutheran Brethren Seminary we are eager to serve men and women sensing a call to pursue theological education in order to serve more effectively as a layperson.
The Certificate of Theological Studies can be done at a college or graduate level of study with credits able to be applied later, upon application and acceptance, to the degree programs offered at the seminary. The CTS program offers four possible areas of study from a solid Biblical and theological core: Lay Ministry, Bible and Theology, Missions, and Youth Ministry.
Candidates for the Certificate of Theological Studies might include the following: adult learners who are interested in full or part-time study; those preparing for youth ministry or specific overseas mission assignments; college students who wish to pursue reflective theological study; and mature, motivated, and academically ready high school graduates wishing to establish a firm theological foundation in preparation for life. These latter students will be accepted for the program only by special recommendation and permission of the seminary faculty.
If full-time study is possible, a student may complete a CTS program in one year of study.
