Becoming A Student
Admission Requirements
Admission to a seminary degree program is given to men and women of approved Christian character who possess such aptitudes as would seem to qualify them for future service in the Kingdom of God. The basic academic requirement for admission to the Masters programs are a bachelors degree or its equivalent; for the Bachelor of Theology, a minimum of one-year of college or a plan to complete it. A transcript of high school and college work must be forwarded to the registrar for evaluation before registration is completed. The Certificate of Theological Studies program is a college level program intended for personal enrichment and growth in lay ministry. Transcripts of high school and any college work, if any, should be directed to the seminary registrar to complete registration.
Pre-Seminary Study The following is a list of fields of study with which a master's student should have acquaintance before he/she has completed his/her work for a baccalaureate degree in preparation for seminary study. It is further suggested that three-fourths of the pre-seminary training be taken in these fields, with the field concentration being drawn from any two or three fields. Field (Credits): English (12-16), Philosophy (6-8), Bible (8-12) History (8-12), Psychology (6-8), Natural Sciences (4-6), Social Sciences (6-12) Courses in Education will also prove very advantageous to anyone entering pastoral work. If possible, a student plans his/her undergraduate work to include the necessary courses beginning in education leading to teaching certification. |
